I am obsessed with this recipe. Where do you get loaf pans this size? I've been hunting for some, but they're hard ot find.

I see a couple options around for pans—anything in the rough range of 5.5 by 3.5” will work. Or if you have an 8.5” by 4.5”, that will be ok. Slightly flatter/lower than the tea pans but still delicious! Let me know how it goes, Martin!

Thanks! I love that size of pan, so I guess I need to hunt one down.

Made these last night and they are so delicious. Only hiccup I had was that the four almonds fell into the dough during baking. Next time I will try to put them on halfway through baking. Anyway, fun recipe and so unique, at least for me!

This type of dessert has appealed more and more as I’ve grown older. Does the honeycomb improve the texture? I have food-grade beeswax pellets that I could use. I would just need to estimate the amount. Thanks!

I’m the same, sweet not sugary. For the beeswax, I do think that the texture is better, but, I often make it with just honey. You can sub honey for the comb portion. It’s really good—let me know how it goes!

This Holiday Spice Loaf sounds exquisite! I am eager to try this. I will go find honeycomb somewhere. I never realized you could bake/cook with it. You learn something every day. Happy Holidays 🌲

Thanks for the note, Gundy. When you hear the honey and spices, the comb melts and falls right in. If I were a beekeeper (someday!), I bet I’d find many more uses for comb.

Happy baking and happy holidays too!

Cannot wait to make. It is like the spice breads that you see in the Christmas markets in Alsace. Sharing these lovely spice breads bring so much joy and comfort to others. As always thoughtful of others.

I am looking forward to trying this recipe but don’t have loaf pans this small. Would you suggest trying larger loaf pans or perhaps going down to muffin tins?

A couple options—at the store you can usually find a small aluminum tea loaf pan, those work well, just try to match the dimensions I specify. You can also do a bread loaf pan, (8.5x4.5”), just know that the amount won’t fill the pan as nicely.

Have fun!

Well shoot!

Remind me to save some cappings for cooking next September. All my wax has been processed into salve. I do have gobs of honey, so that part is covered,

And you just know I'm using your favorite dried apple here, the trusty granny smith :)

I’m in full procrastination mode currently and this looks like another excellent way to avoid what I really should be doing. It looks delicious and I can already smell the spices.
